5. Injury prevention

Exercising regularly prepares your body for challenges in everyday life, believe it or not. You're less likely to hurt your back lifting heavy grocery backs if you've worked on stretching and developing your muscles, for example.

4. Better Mood

Antidepressants can work out your serotonin issues, sure. But so can taking more walks in the sunshine, or runs on the treadmill. Some problems need more help than simple exercise, but it can be helpful in alleviating all types of psychological suffering, either on its own or in combination with therapy and medication.

3. Better Sex

Great sex seems to be the mission of all adults. Pick up any magazine targeted to men or women, and whether it claims to be about fashion, health, or raising kids, chances are that you'll find at least one, if not several articles, containing sex advice. While there's nothing wrong with taking advice from some of the sex experts out there, there's also nothing wrong with keeping your sex drive geared up to its highest potential through regular physical exercise. The best part about this? The sex itself can count as physical exercise! The cycle of satisfaction is not a hard one to keep up with.

2. Longevity

Various studies have linked longevity to healthy habits such as eating natural foods and exercising regularly. This seems like common sense, as most healthy habits will reduce your risk for plenty of diseases and extend your lifespan. However, exercises can increase your likelihood of living longer, even if you start as an elderly person. That is some life-sustaining power.

1. Energy

Yes, number one is nothing more than that elusive energy. From the amount of Starbucks coffee and Red Bull sold in the city, it's obvious that New York is a city which could use a bit more natural energy. It may be the city that doesn't sleep, but there are easier and cheaper ways to keep up the maddening energy besides the constant latte runs: actual runs. Running, and every other type of exercise, from strength-training to yoga, has the ability to increase your energy levels in a natural way.
