In today's economy, corners are being cut all over the place. However, if exercise is a corner you'd like to avoid damaging, you may need to find a way to exercise on a budget. While not every type of exercise requires equipment (hello, walking!), many types do. And even for those exercises that can be done for free, equipment can make them more comfortable (for example, would you rather go for an hour-long walk in sub-zero-degree weather or in the comfort of your home, on a treadmill, while watching some favorite television shows?). Following are two suggestions on where to find a variety of used exercise equipment.

Play it Again Sports

Located at 308 Orlando Drive in Rariton, New Jersey, Play it Again is relatively easy to access for New Yorkers. The store offers quality new equipment for an assortment of sports and other types of exercise, but it also offers quality used exercise equipment, which comes at a somewhat discounted cost. In addition, you can make money in cash by selling your own exercise equipment to the store (see website linked below for more information). The store does it best to focus on popular brand names (Reebok, Nike, etc.) but it also does its best to offer merchandise for all sorts of sports-related activities.

Frank's Bike Shop

Frank's Bike Shop is one of the most beloved exercise-related shops in the city. Located 553 Grand Street, this shop offers significantly discounted prices on a wide array of used bicycles. It is a smaller store, but it is filled to its capacity with new bikes, used bikes, bikes for rent, and more. The store also boasts and extremely knowledgeable staff that will be able able to help you out with any questions you may have quite well (call 212-533-6332 with any such questions!).
