As if Target could get any cooler

Those of us who insist on employing reusable shopping bags have yet another reason to shop at Target: they are giving a .05 cent credit for every bag you use.  Fantastic!  For reusable bags which are stylish as well as convenient, check out Envirosax.

Great recipe source: Chilean Avocados site

Haas avocadoes are the best tasting avocados, and one of the top exporters of this healthy fruit, Chile, has an amazing web site with mouthwatering recipes among other features.  The Chilean Avocado Importers Association is one of the major sponsors of the American Youth Soccer Organization.

New restaurant and catering in Palm Coast

Palm Coast goes urban with the upcoming City & Spice restaurant and lounge, opening soon in St. Joe's Plaza.  The restaurant will offer upscale dining at affordable prices as well as gourmet catering, and delivery of meals to homes or offices.

Flagler County has a CSA

CSA stands for community supported agriculture and Flagler Organics is a unique food buying club serving Flagler County and the surrounding areas.  For a minimal fee members are able to pick up a share of fresh fruits and vegetables once a week, some of it local and all of it organic.

Gourmet magazine was more than just cooking

Many Examiners have covered the sad demise of America's most beloved epicurean magazine, Gourmet.  Food photography buffs are also mourning a publication that was always to be counted on for the most breathtakingly beautiful covers each and every month for so many years.  See a gallery of some of these works of art here

Support your local food banks NOW

People are struggling and it's time to give back to your community in any way you can.  Food banks have been tragically overwhelmed with those affected by job loss and the economic downturn.  It's time to clear out your pantry and donate to your local food bank: drop off in Bunnell, Ormond Beach, or Daytona Beach and other central Florida locations.
