Are lofty expectations dooming your low-carb lifestyle to fail?

We really are our own worst enemy at times, aren’t we? Time and time again, I’ll hear from people who are following a low-carb plan to help them lose weight and improve their health and yet they’ll get severely discouraged when their EXPECTATIONS for seeing improvements exceed the reality of the scale reading or health markers. Most of the time it is focused on what happens on the scale and I’ll receive frantic e-mails from readers who say they “only lost 8 pounds and expected to lose 15 by now.” Why do people do this and beat themselves up in the midst of imminent success?

In Episode 67 of “Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb On YouTube”, Christine and I address this very important topic directly by helping people keep it real in their weight loss efforts by reminding them that the low-carb way of eating is about so much more than simple weight loss. Yes, shedding pounds is a nice side effect of low-carb living, but you eat this way primarily to improve your health better than any drug the pharmaceutical companies can come up with. When you remind yourself often about how much better you feel, your incredible improvements in your blood sugar control and cholesterol, the enormous amount of energy you have, and all the multitude of wonderful benefits of livin’ la vida low-carb, it’s next to impossible to get discouraged by those silly “great expectations” we put on ourselves that seem to doom those who were well on their way to amazing low-carb success.

Watch today’s video to see if your lofty expectations are causing your low-carb lifestyle change to fail prematurely:
