
The Daily Telegraph reported that the tourism department in Queensland, Australia is looking for someone to spend 6-months on Hamliton Island, part of the Whitsunday Islands region, and promote the island on a blog.
This job requires lounging around in a rent-free, multi-million dollar, three-bedroom beach estate with access to a pool, golf-cart, and ocean. The island caretaker would work be required to work a whopping 12 hours a month for six month. Responsibilities would include feeding the turtles, go whale watching, write a blog to promote the island's tourism industry, talk to the media, and hang-out.
Hamilton Island is the largest of the Whitsunday Islands region and features kayaking, snorkeling, game fishing, bushwalking, diving, sailing, wildlife watching, and water sports along the Great Barrier Reef.
No real experience is required for this dream job position, except an ability to write and speak English, which means the entire planet is probably vying for the position. The Daily Telegraph reported 850,000 people clicked on the site within the first 24 hours and the site was temporarily taken down. Applications are being taken until February 22nd from candidates all over the world, and even short-listed candidates will be flown out for an interview.
