When it comes to chain restaurants, I'm picky. I have a hard time giving credit to restaurants that have their menus created hundreds of miles from the kitchen by a few chefs and a marketing team. However, there are a few that I admire and am not ashamed to admit eating at.
One of those few is Brio, located in Buckhead on Peachtree Rd and on Ashford Rd. on the north side of town. Brio Tuscan Grille has establishments all across the United States, but, the food is just as good as some of the "one and only" restaurants we know and love.
When it comes to nice restaurants, there is one thing I like to compare from the jump, and that's the bread. For example, at Twist you get a serving of cold flaky and cheesy bread sticks served with a maripois for dipping. It's not much to be desired. However, at Brio the bread takes me back to my humble days as a banquet server in one of Atlanta's finest hotels. The basket is full of fresh and hot wheat, white, and cracked seed bread. The selection is what makes it much better than others and the flavors are spot on as well.
For starters, try BRIO’S BRUSCHETTA QUATTRO. This primi dish is a sampling of all of Brio's bruschetta, including roasted red pepper and fresh mozzarella, shrimp in a lobster sherry sauce, and fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella bruschetta.
Every main course I've had at Brio has been great. The WOOD GRILLED SALMON SALAD is one of them. Served with a tangy vinaigrette and a very hearty portion of salmon, this is Insalata will be enough to fill you up.
My absolute favorite part of Brio Tuscan Grille is the dessert. Being an Italian themed establishment it should be no surprise to find tiramisu on the menu but that isn't the real treasure here. The MOCHA CIOCCOLATA GELATO is a chocolate and coffee infused gelato laced with chocolate crunches throughout. The flavor is so delightful and decadent it makes you want to buy a pint and keep it in the freezer for a bad day down the road. It makes the whole meal worth the trip.
