Do you ever leave the quilt shop wishing they had fabric that looked just a little more one way or another or thought of designing your own fabrics?

While designing a new fabric normally involves an investment of hundreds or sometimes thousands of dollars to get it printed (and then what do you do with a whole bolt?) there is a new website that will let you design and print your own fabrics and then buy as much or as little of it as you need.

Spoonflower
is in beta (test mode) right now, but you can upload your designs, have them printed on Moda cotton, and order them for $18/yard. (Fat quarters and 8" x 8" swatches are also available.) Shipping rates in the US vary from $1 to $7 US. International rates are from $2 to $12 US.

They have a contest where you can vote for a fabric of the week. The winner gets their fabic posted on Spoonflower's Etsy shop for anyone to purchase.

Their FAQ even features a tutorial on fabric design by Rachel Galloway of Mamma Made Designs.

Stop by, vote, order, or try your hand at designing the next winning fabric!

Cheers!

Kelly
