I got some information from AccuCut and AccuQuilt that I thought I would pass along. It seems that in September, AccuCut(R), "a worldwide distributor of hand-operated die cutting machines and a leader in the scrapbooking, educational and crafting markets... announced the creation of AccuQuilt(TM), an affiliate company" aimed at the quilting market. They sent along a couple of press releases which I've summarized here for you.
These gadgets look like they would make kit-making especially easy and accurate for shop owners and for anyone who doesn't like to rotary cut, they would be a great way to produce multitudes of shapes with minimal stress on your hands, arms, and shoulders.

"The new company has also unveiled two new cutters: the AccuQuilt(TM) GO!(TM) Fabric Cutter, an innovative new portable fabric cutter designed especially for quilters on the go, and the AccuQuilt(TM) Studio(TM) Fabric Cutter, a remanufacture of the original AccuCut(R) GrandeMARK(R) Roller Die Cutting Machine."
"The AccuQuilt(TM) GO!(TM) Fabric Cutter is a lightweight, portable cutter consumer quilters can easily transport to classes, guild meetings, retreats and quilting bees. Its design was inspired by the ideas and suggestions of quilters throughout the world. It folds in half and features an easy-lift handle, comfortable roller handle grip, magnetic seal and a neutral, light-colored work surface that makes it easy to see what you are doing. A rolling case and upright storage unit also will be available."
The AccuQuilt (TM) )Go! (TM) retails for about $349 USD with 17 dies available, including two designed by Ricky Tims as featured in a recent Quilting Examiner column. It is expected to ship in January 2009.

"The AccuQuilt(TM) Studio(TM) Fabric Cutter is essentially the same trusted design as the AccuCut® GrandeMARK® Roller Die Cutting Machine. Its larger format and higher cutting capacity make it suitable for use in commercial applications, either by quilters on the store floor or by staff in the back room to produce kits, class supplies and other proprietary products by retailers. It’s also the best machine for avid and high-volume quilters.
The AccuQuilt(TM) Studio(TM) Fabric Cutter is currently available through online purchase at AccuQuilt. The AccuQuilt (TM) GO! (TM) Fabric Cutter debuted and was available for presale at the International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston, Texas, October 25 to 27 and October 30 to November 2. It is scheduled for worldwide release online and through select retailers in early 2009. AccuQuilt is currently solidifying retail outlets for the GO!(TM) cutter, and additional presale dates will be listed on the Web site. For more information on AccuQuilt and the GO!(TM) and Studio(TM) cutters, please visit AccuQuilt."
