A cozy, artsy little space tucked on Carson St. near the 10th street bridge, Luxx Clothing and Hair Salon is a unique and joyful blend of art, inspiration, friendliness and fun! And it’s pet-friendly! Luxx is many things: it’s a haven for local artists and designers who showcase and sell their creations in the boutique, it’s a fun and trendy salon where talented stylists will help you find your best look, and it’s a source for terrific, hard-to-find vintage clothing and accessories.
When you walk in the door, it’s hard to decide where to look first. So much to see and experience! And the best part- a warm and comfortable salon in the back where you can make your dreams come true. Browse through the boutique while your fabulous new color is processing. Sit on the half-circle sofa and relax while you wait for your appointment. Snuggle with a friendly pooch, maybe your own that has come with you, or one of the other clients’ or stylists’.

There is so much to say about Luxx! But since this is a column focusing on beauty, let’s start there. The salon portion of the boutique offers two talented and accomplished stylists/colorists. The salon was started by a pair of friends who worked together in another salon and eventually set out on their own. One of the two recently moved across the country to Seattle, and another stylist has joined the team after a rigorous screening process to find the right fit. Color is a particular specialty at Luxx, whether you want something unique and different or something that naturally enhances your own color. The newest stylist at Luxx is a former color trainer/educator for a large international color company. If you need color, this is the place to go!

This is a fun place that caters to individuality. Looking for a change? Stop in for a consultation and discuss your options. Bring pictures, drawings, art- whatever inspires you! Looking for someone to trim just your ends so your hair can grow out? No problem. Have a particular challenge? Curly hair, thick/thinning, hard to control? Specialized cutting techniques can help. Love your color but wish it was just a little more……something? Bring it. Want to create a statement? This is where you want to start. And don’t forget to look for something new to wear to complete the transformation!
