The Hampshire Companies, a private commercial real estate investment fund manager based in Morristown, NJ, has raised $450 million in equity and pooled investment fund interests for its start-up Hampshire Partners Fund VIII LP, according to a Reg D filing with the SEC.
Principals named in the filing are James Hanson II, Jon Hanson, Mark Rosen and Todd Anderson, all members of the board of managers of Hampshire Partners VIII LLC.
This fund comes on the heels of the Hampshire Companies' purchase of five existing facilities and two development sites totaling 578,334 SF from Raia Self Storage on behalf of Hampshire Partners Fund VII, a $350 million institutional real estate investment fund.
Hampshire Cos. has about $1 billion under management. James E. Hanson started the business more than 80 years ago.
