Broken-hearted Michael Jackson fans may get a chance to see the legendary 'King of Pop,' one last time. This, if the Jackson family succeeds in having a memorial service and funeral for the late singer at his Neverland ranch near Santa Barbara, as they are reportedly considering.
Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman says the Jacksons are weighing the possiblity of holding a memorial service for the late pop star at his former Neverland ranch near Santa Barbara.
"They want something, but logistical problems are enormous," Oxman said of the family's hopes of holding a public memorial on Friday, followed by a private funeral two days later. Oxman emphasized that it was too early to know for certain whether such services can be held at the ranch.
Citing the Santa Barbara's Sherriff Department, E! Online has reported that plans were already underway to accommodate large crowds at the estate.
"Our guys are meeting as we speak with the California Highway Patrol to discuss the security issues," said Lt. Butch Arnoldi, a department spokesman, according to the Web site.
But Oxman was much more vague: "It could happen in Neverland or L.A.," he said. "The family will make an announcement."
