In an effort to increase the number of clean jokes that are available on the internet, we have begun to compile a list of jokes and humorous stories that any one can enjoy and share on this Examiner page.

Unfortunately, the sources for many of the jokes in this series are unknown. If the reader can offer more information about a joke which is featured (an alternative telling, names of the characters, origin or culture, etc.) please let us know in the comment section below.

The Joke:

(This week's joke was submitted by SF Muslim Examiner, Davi Barker. Check out his page!)

There is an Imam relaxing in his home reading the Quran when he hears the sound of a break in. He quickly runs to his bedroom and hides in the closet. The theif moves about the house, moves into the bedroom, and into the closet. When discovers the Imam hiding he begins to laugh hysterically saying, "You are the Imam and you fear a common theif more than you fear Allah?" And the Imam responds, "No. I am not hiding out of fear, but out of shame. For I have nothing of value for you to steal."

The Moral:

From this we can assume that if the Imam actually did have something of value, he would have given it to the robber.  How many of us can say the same?  Imagine what the thought process of this Imam might be...

A) He realizes that someone is breaking in to his apartment and he does not grab anything to protect himself against the intruder; he trusts in Allah. Plus, he was just reading Quran a moment ago, which would be wonderful note to end one's life on. B) He thinks the very best of the robber by assuming that either he doesn't know any better or that he is in extreme circumstances and feels robbing others is the only option he has. C) Upon that discovery, he feels so ashamed that he has nothing to give to this 'poor' (read: impoverished mind) man, that he hides. D) Additionally the Imam realizes that there is a good chance that the robber will find him in the closet, and figures that once he explains his reason for hiding, perhaps the robber will rethink his decisions or become enlightened right then and there.  His actions all have Allah in mind.  We can learn a lot from this story.

Thanks, Brother Davi, for submitting this joke for the Halal Joke Series.  Has my reader got a clean joke to share? Submit your jokes here, and I'll feature your page or product in exchange for the joke!
