Many children are terrified about the concept of ghosts and the paranormal, yet fascinated at the same time. Young adults, too, are getting more involved in the aspect of ghost hunting and there was even a reality television show dedicated to to this phenomenon, titled “Ghost Trackers,” with host Joe Macleod.

Unfortunately, for “Ghost Trackers,” the network cancelled the show after its third season, but apparently, you can catch it on Discovery Kids Canada and YTV, according to Wikipedia. View an episode of the show here.

It was an interesting show about teens conducting paranormal investigations under the guidance of Macleod, who remained outside of the “supposedly” haunted house, while talking with the kids inside, by headphones. They were strictly on their own, except for Macleod’s voice.

The kids on the show took their ghost hunting extremely serious. Other ghost hunters judged them on their performance and awarded points accordingly. The result was to garner the most points in an effort to become the “ultimate ghost tracker.”

It would seem that teens would not make the best paranormal investigators because of the level of maturity and the general tendency to be high-strung and jittery. However, the kids on “Ghost Trackers” displayed an amazing ability to remain calm while alone in the places alleged to be haunted.

These teens also utilized their ghost-hunting equipment like a professional ghost hunter. They were not shy about taking a reading on sudden drops in temperature in a room, which may indicate the presence of a spirit.

During some of the investigations, a few of the ghost trackers were visibly shaken by the unsettling presence of something in the room, but the brave teens stayed the course and roamed throughout the house searching out signs of the unseen.

The cancellation of “Ghost Trackers” was disappointing because it was a decent show and unique in nature. The lure of ghost hunting reality shows is huge and with the distinct twist of teenagers performing a paranormal investigation, it would be fantastic if someone reconsidered and reinstated the show at some point.
