If Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Victor Butler does not make that shoestring tackle of Donovan McNabb late in last night's 20-16 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys fans very well could have seen a different outcome.

Butler, who was in because of an injured Anthony Spencer, may be undersized at his position. But when he has been in the game, he has made plays.

He has three sacks and one forced fumble in his very limited playing time. With Spencer not 100 percent, this could be Butler's chance to steal the starting position from Spencer.

The Cowboys then have the option of trading Spencer.

So, who is Victor Butler?

He's a rookie from Oregon State, whom the Cowboys selected in the fourth round. At Oregon State in his senior year he broke the team record with 12 sacks. The prior year he had 10.5 sacks.

For the weight and height he lacks for the position, he has the speed. If he starts, it could be the turning point of the defense because DeMarcus Ware would then have a force opposite of him.
