I thought Richardon did a relatively good job on Anthony. Next thing you know, Melo finishes with 30

- Here’s the problem with using Beasley at small forward (next to Anthony and Haslem), when Wade is on the bench, which the Heat have done in every game so far: Almost all of the Heat’s offensive sets involve the guards and the power forward, while the small forward hovers behind the three point line. So basically, even when Wade is out, Beasley is still not the number one option on offense.

- Alright Spoelstra, let me specify what I meant when I said that I was happy that you had seen the light and decided to put Beasley in the starting lineup. My assumption was that he wouldn’t be a token starter (in other words what Finley is to the Spurs, with Ginobli coming off the bench claiming the majority of the minutes).

- I actually thought that Spoelstra would ALSO try to incorporate Beasley into more of a two-man game with Wade, or at the very least make him the number one option when Wade wasn’t on the court. Was I really going out on a limb? Wasn’t that a rational assumption?

- Wright’s basketball IQ definitely seems to have improved. I know that’s not saying much, but still, it’s something.

- It hurts to see Ty Lawson. Remember people, Miami could have had Lawson as their back up, had they never made that terrible Antoine Walker trade (Walker, Earl Barron and a first round pick for Mark Blount AND Marcus Banks). I really hope Lawson doesn’t have a solid career. Nothing person, Ty. Also, damn you Antoine. Which reminds me, how do you go into debt when you were THAT overpaid? Unbelievable. Did you really eat that much?

- Beasley wasn’t assertive enough in the first quarter. Nice open court finish against Nene, though.

- The 4-for-4 first half shooting was a good sign for O’Neal, shame for the rest of his stat line (3 fouls, 2 rebounds).

- Somehow, despite Wade and Beasley combining to go 3-for-12, the Heat were up 12 at the half.

- Tonight was Mario Chalmer’s coming out party. That three pointer over 6’8’’ Renaldo Balkman as time was running down on the shot clock, wow. He finished with 16 (and went 4-for-5 from three). Against Chauncey Billups, nonetheless.

- Say what you want about O’Neal being old and not having enough lift anymore, but that block on Carmelo Anthony’s third quarter dunk attempt was impressive.

- Quentin Richardson proved to be a viable option in the low post whenever he had a smaller player switched onto him. Plus, Chauncey Billups is not exactly your typical mini.

- Another solid performance from Richardson (13 points, 9 rebounds). Is this a flash in the pan or a sign of things to come?

- Damn you Ty Lawson, or the Curse of Antoine Walker’s neck, the name I will now use to refer to you.

- Can’t get careless Miami. Lead cut to 11 with three minutes left.

- Really Chalmers? An 8 second violation with three minutes left in the fourth? You’re lucky Haslem doesn't play point guard.

- Good win for the Heat. Holding the highest scoring team in the league to 88 points is impressive. Especially on a night where Wade (6-for17) and Beasley (3-for-8), were off with their shooting.
