Today's game of Name That Party! is brought to you by the Iowa Independent.

While today's game doesn't involve a crime on the part of one of our honorable Senators or Representatives (seriously: they call each other "honorable." It's kind of funny.), the article does cover an incident where the governor of a midwestern state has been using her time to campaign for her party's candidate, on the taxpayer's dime.

Catcalls of "malfeasance" will be pouring out of the Progressive heartland any minute now.

Aaany minute. Wait for it, Estragon.

She also took time to insinuate that her far-left candidate, a man with virtually no experience and all kinds of skeletons in his closet, might only lose because of, well, do I even need to say it?

So, back to the game... Name... That... Paarrty!

The Iowa Independent's story runs 12 paragraphs. In which paragraph does it mention directly her party affiliation?

  • Paragraph 1
  • Paragraph 3
  • Paragraph 7
  • Not at all.

Pencils up! The answer: not at all.

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D) insinuated the worst of motives to millions of Americans, and the way that we find out about her party affiliation is by noting that Republicans took umbrage at her attack, which she delivered in her "low-key, folksy, out-from-behind-the-podium style."

See that D inside the parenthesis a couple lines ago? At exactly no point in the article is the Iowa Independent guilty of employing it.

She's not the President, nor the Republican candidate for the Presidency, nor the photogenic Junior Senator from Illinois who is also running for the Presidency. There's no excuse, mainstream media. It takes a wee 3 keystrokes. Do it. You'll feel better. Or at least more honest. Which I'm given to understand is not the same thing.

++

For those who aren't familiar, Name That Party! is a game titled by Don Surber and played on all of us for years now by the mainstream media (MSM). Whenever a Republican politician manages to get himself caught with his pants down (an apparently all too common occurrence these days), MSM articles readily provide his party affiliation and constituency. When it comes to covering Democrats, not so much. Sometimes they don't get to it at all.

Don't believe it? Keyword search "name that party". Include the quotes. See what you find.
