Colorado's championship basketball team is
leaving.  AP

Unable to complete a deal to buy the Chicago Cubs, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has settled on the NBA Development League-champion Colorado 14ers of Broomfield.

The Denver Post has reported that the 14ers will be bought out by the Dallas Mavericks and will most likely sit out next season.  The franchise struggled with attendance in Broomfield, where they averaged a little less than 1200 fans a game.  The team will resurrect in Dallas and will be affiliated with the Mavericks.

No word on whether the Denver Nuggets will acquire a new D League affiliate.
