Well Tomboys, your day at long last has arrived. You must have been skeptical all week watching the other girls’ outfits come and go, thinking there’s no way this trend could be right for you, but there is a way to make it work. And even better? You’re gonna love it because you can still wear the same clothes you always have. That’s right, you can still wear your t-shirts and jeans, rock this lingerie trend, and be comfortable all at the same time.

When it comes to Tomboys and lingerie, the key is to remember the basics of both. Just think about it: What comes to mind first when you think of typical Tomboy style? Easy to move around in, sporty, comfortable clothes that don’t require a PhD in straps and buckles to figure out [such as tank tops, jeans, t-shirts, shorts]. And what comes to mind first when you think of lingerie? Lace, bows, and other girly details on form-fitting little garments designed to entice the object of your affection [like teddies, bustiers, and bras]. Now combine the two and you get tank tops, shirts, and other comfortable clothes with lace, bows, and other girly details. It doesn’t get much easier than that. Everyday Casual
Now you’re not really the type of girl to go out in your dainties, much less the type to go out and find a frilly little sheer shirt to wear over it like the other girls. This isn’t because you aren’t sexy. It’s because you’re too low maintenance and practical to make yourself uncomfortable just for the sake of style. After all, it doesn’t matter if lingerie is uncomfortable because it doesn’t get worn all day, like your normal clothes do. So why bother, right? If you’re just going to be sitting in a movie theater, you don’t need to be dressed like you’re on your way to a wedding. So for you ladies, there won’t be any corsets or bustiers at all. Instead, try wearing something like this lace top [$19.80 at Forever 21]. It has a little bit of a lacy lingerie element to it and is cut sort of like a teddy, but still has the comfort and ease of any other loose tank top you might wear. Add to it this great military cardigan [$22.80] and these creased shorts [$15.80], and you’ll be ready for anything that comes your way [compliments included].

Work
One thing the fashion industry and Tomboys have been able to agree on this year is menswear, and there’s no better place to wear it than to work. After all, isn’t that what suits are made for? For an incredibly chic menswear look perfect for the office, try combining this lacy fitted tee [$17.80] with these suspender slacks [$19.80]. Guaranteed to be comfy all day and make a hell of an entrance at any meeting.

Party
Going to a party and want to catch the eye of that certain someone with your new lingerie-inspired style, but you don’t want to look overdone? Don’t worry. Just try to find outfits inspired more by the shape and design of lingerie, rather than the print or fabric. Take this halter tunic [$22.80], for example. It has a corset-esque design to the top, but a simple enough design that you won’t feel overdressed. Pair with it these acid-knit leggings [$13.80] and you’ll be ready to party in effortless style, just the way you like it.

Date Night
Though you’re usually not one to get all dressed up, you scored a date with the guy from the party and you need to find something to wear that’ll really impress him. How can you wear something that’ll show off the sexy side he hasn’t yet without having to wear something you’ll be dying to exchange for your sweats all night?
