The death of Michael Jackson on Thursday has prompted Fox to do something with its "American Idol" franchise that it has never done before.
The network announced it will rebroadcast its two-hour Michael Jackson themed top 13 performance episode on Monday night at 8 p.m., marking the first time in the show's eight-year history that it has repeated a taping.
News of the rerun came at the end of Thursday's "So You Think You Can Dance," courtesy of host Cat Deely.
"In the light of today’s news, I have a very important announcement," she told the live audience. "In the eight year history of 'American Idol,' Fox has never rebroadcast an episode. But, on Monday at 8/7 central, you’ll get another opportunity to see this year’s top 13 Michael Jackson special.”
The original episode aired on March 10 with each of the 13 finalists performing a song from the King of Pop's extensive catalog. Below is a list of what each of the contestants sang. [Click on the links to view the performances.]
