Stain your cabinets.

Updating your kitchen without gutting it and buying everything new…

Cabinets say a lot about a kitchen. If you want to see a change for a reasonable price in comparison to buying all new cabinets, etc then take the do it yourself approach. You can achieve a more modern look by staining your cabinets. I have an old kitchen myself and the plan is to take the cabinets darker by putting in a little elbow grease.

Lowes is my friend when I have a new project in mind. I was told to take the cabinets off and lay them flat on a work bench and get them ready to be sanded. The objective was to get off the old finish so the new stain could work its way into the wood. Then after a short time I am to wipe off the excess stain. Be sure to let them dry and replace the cabinets. What a difference the color makes in the kitchen. Almost brand new! You will be satisfied with the new look without having to spend thousands of dollars. All it took was some time and around $50 for the materials.
