Many couples believe that they can save a lot of money if they have a wedding at their homes; however, you should read the positives and negatives of an at home wedding before taking on this daunting task.

Pros

  • A home wedding can be much more personal and intimate than a wedding at a hotel.
  • The place is all yours and you don’t have to share it with another wedding.
  • If you want privacy, this is one of the best options.
  • You could rent a home if yours isn’t large enough or you could use a home of a close friend or relative.
  • You’ll save a lot of money on alcoholic drinks, because you can buy them yourself from a liquor store.

Cons

  • You will have to rent almost everything from tables and chairs to flatware. You might even have to rent portable bathrooms and generators.
  • You may have to take out extra insurance on your home.
  • You may have to hire valet parkers.
  • Some kitchens are not big enough to prepare meals for a large number of guests, so many caterers could turn down the job.
