6 tips to hiring your wedding vendors
There are many vendors that work together to make a wedding come to life. Read these tips before hiring and deciding on your wedding vendors.
- If you’re hiring a wedding planner, hire her first. She’ll recommend trustworthy vendors and will help you hire the rest.
- Don’t hire wedding vendors that say they can’t work within your budget.
- Don’t hire wedding vendors who don’t seem interested in your opinion and your vision. Hire someone who you feel listens to you.
- Gather recommendations from your wedding planner, caterer, other wedding vendors, and friends and family that have worked or used wedding vendors in the past.
- Put your wedding vendors into priority categories. First priority wedding vendors are the wedding planner, officiant, photographer, caterer, and band or deejay and should be hired first. The second priority wedding vendors are the videographer, florist, cake maker, transportation and hairstylist. The third priority wedding vendors are the stationer, lighting company, and rental companies.
- Interview no more than three wedding vendors in each category. For instance, only interview three caterers even if there are eight in your area. Narrow down the list by looking at each vendor’s website.
