Two more ways to help anti-meth efforts in the Treasure Valley have come to my attention — one right away, and the other in the near future.
Help youth group, Idaho Meth Project at same time
Reflections in Meridian has been accepting donations for the Expo Idaho garage sale scheduled for this Saturday, May 16.
If you don't have much to do this weekend, go check out appliances, furniture, clothing, etc. The money you spend at the Reflections canopy will go to the church's youth group to support its upcoming missions trip.
Further, the net proceeds from the overall Expo Idaho event — there's a $3 entry fee — will go to the Idaho Meth Project.
This is a unique chance to help young people plan a truly life-changing experience and at the same time boost a vital statewide anti-drug campaign. It doesn't get much better than that.
Expo Idaho is at the corner of Chinden and Glenwood, adjacent to Lady Bird Park.
Plenty to do at Freedom House
Treasure Valley residents still have opportunities to contribute to the important work being done at Calvary Chapel Boise's Freedom House, a new meth recovery home for women voluntarily seeking improved lives.
CCB is having a large-scale "parking lot sale" to raise funds for this outreach. A slew of gently used and new items already have been generously donated.
The sale will take place at these times and dates:
The church is on the corner of Franklin and Cole in Boise. If you are interested in providing stuff to sell, send an e-mail to ajones@ccboise.org.
