San Diego police continue to search for the driver of a vehicle that allegedly left the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident in Normal Heights early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the victim, who was reportedly male and in his 30s, was struck and killed just after 1:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of Meade Ave.

Police say the victim suffered massive head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Police did not say if witnesses got a license plate number, only describing the car as a newer white hatchback.

While accidents happen each and every day, it takes some real nerve to hit someone and drive off.

If the driver was drunk, on a suspended license, etc., they are now in a lot more trouble than they would have been before hitting someone.
