Restaurants, hotels and bakeries will offer sweet samples at Aventura Mall on May 24 all in an effort to end childhood hunger.

Tickets for bake sale items will be $1 each or $10 for 13 tickets; they will be available on-site at the Central Court. Proceeds in the past have benefitted Daily Bread Food Bank and FLIPANY.

There will also be raffles, a cupcake decorating station, pastry demonstrations by Le Cordon Bleu and live performances by Nerdel the Puppet. Nerdel will be talking about the benefits of staying healthy. This is the 5th year for this event.

Chef Allen Susser said, "It’s heartbreaking to realize that one in every six children in America goes to bed hungry each night – that’s 295,000 kids right here in South Florida ! It is our hope that the Great American Bake Sale will raise awareness and much-needed funds to feed children right in our own backyard. We are thrilled to be partnering again with Aventura Mall for our fifth year. The mall provides the perfect venue for our unique event."
