Michael Schwartz (Best of South nominee) Cooking on a Shoestring

You may have heard of him from Michael's Genuine Food and Drink; now he will be better known for nabbing the top accolade in the culinary field --The James Beard Award.
The organization honored him with the Best Chef South Nomination. But he is not the only local nominee. He stands with Zach Bell of Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach and Douglas Rodriguez of Ola in Miami Beach, along with other out-of-state contendors.
Who will win? The winner will be announced at a special ceremony and gala reception on May 4 at New York City's Avery Fisher Hall.
