The MALM from IKEA is a great solid bedframe

Headboards are a fantastic way to make any bedroom feel complete. Without them, there is a sense that the bed is floating in the room. This creates an effect that is ungrounded. In Feng Shui, having a headboard has lots of positive attributes: better sleep, relationship stability and better health.

Headboards come in many shapes and colors. The best ones for health, sleep and relationships are one that are solid, and made from natural materials like wood or fabric. Metal headboards conduct electricity and tend to have sharp corners and decorations. Here are some visual ideas on some easy to find or make headboards

First, the image above is just a simple IKEA headboard, but it is a great example of a simple, solid, affordable way to get a headboard into your bedroom.  This model is $179 for a Queen.

On the next image, the owner painted the image of a headboard on the wall, giving a similar effect as actually having one.  Here, the bed definitly feels like it has a home and is well designed!

A tri-fold screen creates this great headboard

By taking wallpaper and filling in the old fabric pannels of this 3 fold screen, the effect is stunning and economical.  Be sure to secure the screen to the wall so it does not fall on top of you while you are in bed!
