Having a nice lamp in a bedroom can really make the whole space feel cozier and more intimate. 

Everyday when I wake up, I look at a low quality Home Depot ceiling lamp that reminds me I am a renter.  I researched ways to spruce it up, and came across this great idea from Kate at the Design Sponge Blog.  It focuses on transforming a simple pendent lamp from IKEA, but this would work many different kinds of light fixtures. 

The key ingredient is felt.  The original artist cut felt circles and glued them onto the plastic.
