In today’s digital world, everyone should have an online résumé or portfolio to showcase themselves to potential employers. (Hint: Include a link to your profile in your e-mail signature and at the top of your résumé.) If your Facebook and LinkedIn pages aren’t exactly what they should be, I recommend creating a VisualCV.

The VisualCV makes a traditional résumé come alive with video, pictures and a portfolio of your best work samples and other supporting documents. Informational pop-ups provide background data on the companies you’ve worked at and the colleges you’ve attended. You can securely share different versions with your own network of employers, colleagues and friends, and control who sees what. And, did I mention it’s free?

VisualCV, Inc. recently launched the VisualCV Marketplace to help members easily find and connect with companies and independent consultants providing value-added services that can help them achieve their career development goals.

VisualCV’s Marketplace includes service providers in the following categories:
  • Certified VisualCV Creation: VisualCV creation services offered by VisualCV trained and certified providers.
  • Résumé Writing: VisualCV and resume content writing assistance.
  • Recruiting: general and niche recruiters.
  • Career Coaching: career counseling services.
  • Certification and Testing: professional certification, testing and verification services.
  • Videography and Photography: multi-media VisualCV enhancement.
Access to the Marketplace section is free to VisualCV members, who can see brief descriptions as well as detailed VisualCV profiles for every service provider, with the option to connect through the system for more information. Members interested in using any of the services advertised contact and complete transactions directly with Marketplace providers.
