There are millions of homeless animals living at shelters. With so many, it can prove to be a bit overwhelming to choose the perfect pet for you. So, I have created this regular feature to share with you three very special adoptable dogs in and around Denver. If you see one you like, don't hesitate to contact the shelter or rescue to meet your potential new canine companion. If you don't see one, check back again for more featured animals, or go online to search one out for yourself.
YOUNG DOG
About Doc Holliday: Doc Holliday is a very handsome, 8-10 month old, White, male Akbash. He and his brother, Wyatt Earp, were found wandering as strays near Sundance, Wyoming, covered in motor oil and fleas, full of mats and dirt, and they were likely dumped. They are incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving guys and are very grateful to be out of the cold and soon to be part of a family! Doc is the more submissive of the two and is very shy and timid at first, but he warms up quickly. He is learning how to walk on leash and his foster family will be teaching him all about house training, crate training, and basic commands. He will also be meeting lots of new dogs and we'll be cat testing him soon.
Sex: Male
Breed: Akbash
Shelter / Rescue: Big Dogs, Huge Paws
ADULT DOG
About Jill: Jill is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix about 2 1/2 -3 1/2 years old and weighs 26 pounds. Jill is a neat little dog. It seems she's had some pretty rough treatment in her former home. She has rebounded nicely and is very affectionate. She could never have too much attention. She is good on a leash and would make a good walking or jogging partner for someone. She is good with most other dogs. Cats are okay. Call Cindy at 970-353-1385.
Jill is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed.
Sex: Female
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier (Mix)

SENIOR DOG
About Hannah: Hannah is a ten-year-old love bug! Along with three others, Hannah came to us from a breeder who was downsizing. She is sweet, loving, quiet, and just plain adorable! She loves to be near you, following close behind from room to room. Hannah is housetrained. However, due to the fact that she probably didn’t get much one-on-one time before now, she may have an accident from time to time. If you let her out on a regular basis, she is fine once she adjusts to her new surroundings. Hannah is partially blind and has some hearing loss. She has also lost a lot of teeth. She gets around just fine, though. Right now, we are putting drops in her eyes once a day, but the vet feels that may be able to be discontinued once a recheck exam is done. Hannah is playful with people and gets so excited when you return home. She will run circles around you wagging that curly tail of hers. If you have a home for an older girl with lots of enthusiasm for her people, please consider Hannah. Hannah is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
