Looking for concerts, but don’t have the cash to shell out for tickets? As you know, I’m no fan of expensive ticket prices. There’s no shame in that; we all want to see our favorite bands and artists for a decent price, not for an arm and a leg!  Thankfully, there are several places across the state of Maryland which provides free concerts, especially during the summer, which is right around the corner.

Here are a few local venues in Baltimore that are giving music lovers the opportunity to enjoy great music and entertainment for free (and, hey, as my grandfather always says, “If it’s free, it’s for me!”):

The Harborplace Amphitheater, located near Pratt and Light Street in Baltimore, provides free concerts to the masses from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Performances are held on Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm. For more information (and for artists coming to this hot spot), visit http://baltimore.about.com/od/events/a/summermusic_2.htm.

Another local venue that is worth visiting this summer is Patterson Park. Shows during this summer’s concert series take place at 6:30 p.m. on the Pagoda Hill, near Patterson Park Avenue and Lombard St. The Pagoda is open during concerts. For more information, visit http://baltimore.about.com/od/events/a/summermusic_3.htm.

If you have a few dollars to spare, take some time to head out to a Kobra Klutch promotional show. These shows are very popular among young adults across Maryland, most especially in Anne Arundel County and Baltimore. Tickets for most shows run between 7 to 12 dollars, so you won’t have to scrounge up loose change to buy a ticket for some great bands. For more information on these promotional shows, visit http://www.kobraklutch.com/.
