Greenfest San Francisco was this weekend at the Concourse Exhibition Center. This is the third year that I have been and I found a few new things that I will share with you over the next couple of posts. A series of "finds" if you will!
I am constantly searching the eco-realm for fabrics and silhouettes that are classic and i steer clear of clothes that look like they are "hippy-chic." I want to be able to still carry on my classic style while focusing on good fabrics and better buying. Today I found a great combination of both elegance and eco-class.
The two women in the booth for Hemp Elegance were dressed well and had a very chic display put together. I was first caught by the adorable bags that they make in a variety of colors. Each of their clothing pieces feature durable hemp blends and great cuts. They are getting ready to launch their 2009 catalog on-line in which they promised me they will feature their new sexy denim-like bottoms and their adorable dress coats.
Hemp is a great resource to use in clothing and textiles. The fiber is soft yet durable and gets softer with washing and use. The greatest thing about hemp is how fast it grows. It takes less pesticides to grow and is easier on the planet all around. I always see this material getting used in the most hippy fashions, so I am ecstatic to see it done well! kudos to ladies at Hemp Elegance!
