Here are this week’s updates on how the Nashville Predators prospects are fairing in their respective collegiate and junior hockey league seasons thus far.

Ontario Hockey League

Ryan Ellis (Drafted 1st round – 11th overall in 2009) – Windsor Spitfires

After missing nearly a month with wrist injury, Ellis returned to the Spitfires lineup this week. In three games this week, he recorded two assists. For the season, Ellis has yet to score a goal, but has twelve assists in ten games played. His plus/minus is +12, and he has been assessed eight penalty minutes. 

Taylor Beck (3rd round – 70th overall in 2009) – Guelph Storm

For the season, Beck has eleven goals and 20 assists in 18 games played. Beck has a plus/minus of +10, and he has been whistled for eight penalty minutes.

The Guelph Mercury had a nice piece this week on Beck’s maturation.

Michael Latta (3rd round – 72nd overall in 2009) – Guelph Storm

Latta has been sidelined since October 28th with a shoulder injury. For the season, he has seven goals and eight assists in 14 games played. He has a plus/minus of +10, and has 33 penalty minutes.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (La Ligue de Hockey Junior Majeur Du Quebec)

Charles-Olivier Roussel (2nd round – 42nd overall in 2009) – Shawinigan Cataractes

On the season, in 21 games played, Roussel has three goals and 13 assists. He has a plus/minus of -9 and has been assessed 41 penalty minutes.

Gabriel Bourque (5th round – 132nd overall in 2009) – Baie-Comeau Drakkar

Through 17 games, Bourque has four goals and 17 assists. His plus/minus is -1 and has 41 penalty minutes.

United States Hockey League

Nick Oliver (4th round – 110th overall in 2009) – Fargo Force

In eleven games played for the Force this season, Oliver is still looking for his first goal, and has two assists. His plus/minus is even and has 19 penalty minutes.

British Columbia Hockey League (Junior ‘A’)

Cam Reid (7th round – 192nd overall in 2009) – Westside Warriors

Reid’s Warriors stats have not changed since last week, since he was in Prince Edward Island competing with Team Canada West in the World Junior A Challenge. In 16 games played with the Warriors, Reid has nine goals and seventeen assists. Reid has been assessed 32 penalty minutes.

Sunday, Reid’s Canada West team lost in the Gold Medal Game of the World Junior A Challenge to Team USA. For the tournament, Reid scored four goals and added two assists in five games played. Three of his goals were scored in the same game. He recorded his hat trick in West’s 7-3 defeat of Belarus.

NCAA

Jeff Foss (6th round – 166th overall in 2008) – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

In ten games played for R.P.I., Foss has two assists, six penalty minutes and his plus/minus is +4.

Taylor Stefishen (5th round – 136th overall in 2008) – Ohio State

In nine games played for the Buckeyes so far this season, Stefishen has one goal and three assists. He has four penalty minutes and his plus/minus is +2.

Ben Ryan (4th round – 114th overall in 2007) – Notre Dame

In ten games, Ryan leads the Fighting Irish with ten points. He has three goals and seven assists. He has eight penalty minutes and has a plus/minus of +3.

Ryan Thang (3rd round – 81st overall in 2007) – Notre Dame

In ten games this season, Thang has two goals and two assists. He has twelve minutes in penalties and his plus/minus is +2.

Blake Geoffrion (2nd round – 56th overall in 2006) – Wisconsin

For the season, he has five goals and two assists, with a +1 plus/minus and four penalty minutes. Three of his five goals on the season are power-play goals.

Craig Smith (4th round – 98th overall in 2009) – Wisconsin

Smith returned to action this weekend after being suspended for last weekend’s games. He had four assists in two games against Minnesota. Through six games, Smith has six assists. The freshman’s plus/minus is +3. He has been assessed 19 minutes in penalties.

Ryan Flynn (6th round – 176th overall 2006) – Minnesota

Through eight games, Flynn has recorded one assist. He has twelve penalty minutes and has a plus/minus of -2.

Zach Budish (2nd round – 41st overall in 2009) – Minnesota

Budish had a big night in Minnesota’s victory over Wisconsin. In the game, he had two goals and an assist. In eight games this season, Budish has three goals and one assist. He has six penalty minutes, and his plus/minus is +2.
