Here are this week’s updates on how the Nashville Predators prospects are fairing in their respective collegiate and junior hockey league seasons thus far.

Ontario Hockey League

Ryan Ellis (Drafted 1st round – 11th overall in 2009) – Windsor Spitfires

Ellis’ stats have not changed since last week’s look. Ellis has been sidelined by a wrist injury, and is not expected to play for at least another week. Jim Parker of The Windsor Star is reporting that Ellis is expected to be in Nashville Monday to be examined by Predators team doctors. In seven games played this season, Ellis has yet to score a goal, but has ten assists. His plus/minus is +8, and he has been assessed four penalty minutes.

Taylor Beck (3rd round – 70th overall in 2009) – Guelph Storm

Beck had a big week. In three games, he had three goals and three assists. For the season, he has six goals and seven assists. Beck has a plus/minus of +7, and he has been whistled for four penalty minutes.

Michael Latta (3rd round – 72nd overall in 2009) – Guelph Storm

In ten games played, Latta has five goals and five assists. He has a plus/minus of +7, and has 29 penalty minutes.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (La Ligue de Hockey Junior Majeur Du Quebec)

Charles-Olivier Roussel (2nd round – 42nd overall in 2009) – Shawinigan Cataractes

In eleven games played, Roussel has no goals and seven assists. He has a plus/minus of -7 and has been assessed 24 penalty minutes so far.

Gabriel Bourque (5th round – 132nd overall in 2009) – Baie-Comeau Drakkar

Through eleven games, Bourque has three goals and 12 assists. His plus/minus is +1 and has 39 penalty minutes.

United States Hockey League

Nick Oliver (4th round – 110th overall in 2009) – Fargo Force

In five games played for the Force this season, Oliver has not yet scored a goal, and has one assist. His plus/minus is +1 and has eleven penalty minutes.

British Columbia Hockey League (Junior ‘A’)

Cam Reid (7th round – 192nd overall in 2009) – Westside Warriors

In twelve games played, Reid has seven goals and fifteen assists. Reid has been assessed 20 penalty minutes.

Friday, Hockey Canada announced that Reid will represent Canada West at the 2009 World Junior A Challenge which will be held November 1-8 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

NCAA

Jeff Foss (6th round – 166th overall in 2008) – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

In three games played for R.P.I., Foss has yet to record a point. He has been whistled for one minor penalty and has a plus/minus of -1.

Taylor Stefishen (5th round – 136th overall in 2008) – Ohio State

Stefishen has one goal through the Buckeye’s first four games. His goal was the game winner in Ohio State’s 4-0 upset of the #3 ranked Denver University Pioneers Friday night. He has four penalty minutes and his plus/minus is even.

Ben Ryan (4th round – 114th overall in 2007) – Notre Dame

In four games, Ryan has three assists. He has two penalty minutes and has a plus/minus of +2.

Ryan Thang (3rd round – 81st overall in 2007) – Notre Dame

In four games this season, Thang has a goal and two assists. He has four minutes in penalties and has a plus/minus of +1.

Blake Geoffrion (2nd round – 56th overall in 2006) – Wisconsin

In one game played for the Badgers, Geoffrion has one goal. The goal was a power-play goal. His plus/minus is even. He left Wisconsin’s season opener, and did not return to the game, nor did he play in Saturday’s game against Colorado College.

Craig Smith (4th round – 98th overall in 2009) – Wisconsin

Through two games, Smith has one assist. The freshman’s plus/minus is even.

Ryan Flynn (6th round – 176th overall 2006) – Minnesota

In the Golden Gophers first two games of the regular season, Flynn has recorded one assist. He has eight penalty minutes and has a plus/minus of +1.

Zach Budish (2nd round – 41st overall in 2009) – Minnesota

Seeing his first collegiate hockey action, Budish did not record a point in Minnesota’s first two regular season games. He has four penalty minutes, and his plus/minus is even.
