Maximum Adventure Network (MAN), the channel of choice for the true outdoor enthusiast and best known for its top-of-the-line adventure programming, will merge with Pursuit Channel to create the most robust hunting and fishing network in the nation.

“This merger makes sense for everyone involved, including viewers, sponsors, advertisers, producers and both networks,” said Rusty Faulk, CEO of Pursuit. “The combination of resources will result in a hugely compelling outdoor channel, with broad distribution.”

Combined, the new network will showcase over 100 titles and continue to serve the loyal fans and viewers of both networks via the DIRECTV platform reaching more than 17 million U.S. households. Some of the popular programs available to viewers include Guns & Ammo, In-Fisherman, North American Whitetail, Bowhunter , Whitetail Properties, Alan Warren Outdoors, Hunter’s Edge, Gone Huntin’, Best of the West, Relentless Pursuit and Hunting With The Pros.

MAN has been nationally distributed on a full-time basis since January 2008 on DIRECTV’s Channel 608. MAN was founded in 2007 by proven industry professionals Gary and Staci Turner, unrivaled in their success developing and deploying specialty channels, interactive elements and integrated advertising. MAN has been uniquely positioned to deliver viewers, programmers and distributors with an unparalleled television experience.

“By combining MAN’s efficient business model and loyal following with Pursuit’s extensive library of quality, complimentary content, we successfully create an environment that consolidates these talented and dedicated producers and connects them to the viewers most passionate about the outdoors,” said Michael Klahr, President of MAN. “We believe that this relationship not only delivers a true ‘win-win’ for both viewers and producers but will also inevitably lead to an increased interest by sponsors and advertisers resulting in greater growth and profitability for both companies.”

Plans call for significant additional distribution gains for the network by the end of the year. Terms and conditions of the transaction were undisclosed.
