Win Red Sox tickets at David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic online auction
November 21 -- Unable to get to Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic for David Ortiz’s charity golf tournament in December?
No worries. You can still help the Boston Red Sox slugger raise funds for needy kids by bidding online in the 2nd Annual David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic online auction -- and give yourself a chance to win tickets to the Red Sox 2010 home opener with the New York Yankees or throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park.
Mind if we play through? The four-day golf tourney begins December 3 at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada Golf Club in Cap Cana. Ortiz will tee off with BoSox teammates Jacoby Ellsbury, newlywed Clay Buchholz, Jon Lester, Mike Lowell, Jason Varitek, and manager Terry Francona, among others.
Former teammate Pedro Martinez, as well as Alex Rodriguez of the World Champion (ugh!) Yankees, Torii Hunter, and Vladimir Guerrero are among the celebs and MLB’ers who will also join Ortiz for the annual event.
Helping kids. Boston golfers without the cache to tee it up with Big Papi at what has to be one of the most spectacular golf resorts in the world will have to be satisfied with helping ailing children get the medical care they need. The David Ortiz Children’s Fund provides aid to kids in New England and the Dominican who have no access to critical pediatric services.
Now through December 4 you may click here to bid on a slew of high-end items such as the following:
