I’m going to state the obvious here. Marriage is HARD work. It can be difficult enough to share the remote, let alone your life, with another person. While conducting some research for another story, I came across a great website devoted to helping the myriad of marrieds in St. Louis. You can access the site HERE.

The site is sponsored by the St. Louis Healthy Marriage Coalition. The mission of the organization? According to their site, it is “To educate and support the St. Louis community in understanding relationship skills essential for healthy marriages.  We are supporting marriage and family through education, information and outreach.”

The SLHMC website offers helpful links and articles as well as an ever-updating list of events. (Want a gander at the events? Go HERE.)  And if you decide some of the issues in your marriage need some extra work? The site also has a list of therapists in your area who can help.

You can also take a few quizzes. How strong is your marriage? Do you fight fair?

And speaking of events they have listed, there’s an upcoming free seminar I wanted to mention called “Stay Strong Together” at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5300 Delmar Blvd. The first session of the two-day program starts at 5:30 in the evening on Friday June 5 and lasts four hours. The final session is on Saturday June 6, and lasts from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The seminar will touch on practical skills to strengthen your marriage and is open not just to couples but to singles as well. Snacks, continental breakfast and lunch is provided. Free childcare is also available. Registration is required. For more info contact Kelli Lowe at 314-807-1882.
