An iPhone repair specialist has come up with a list of the most common ways to disable the handset, and the good news is that most of them aren't fatal.
Broken screens, hickory-smoked electronics (from charging at too high a voltage) and apparently dead batteries can all be remedied at reasonable expense.
But if your iPhone goes for an extended swim, replacement is likely to be the only option.
