fix squeaking razer diamondback mouseDoes your Razer Diamondback squeak when you press the buttons? I'll show you how to fix that.

I've had my Diamondback 3G for a few months and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately it started to squeak (like a real mouse) when I would press the left button.

It's quite easy to fix this.

You will need:

  • Exacto knife or a razor (yep, we're fixing a Razer mouse with a Razor).
  • A phillips screw driver.

Step 1: Unplug your mouse and find a well-lit flat surface to work on.

Step 2: Flip your mouse over and peal off the back sticker. Place it in a safe place where it won't get anything (like dust) stuck to it.

Step 3: Unscrew the screw beneath the sticker on the back side of your mouse.

Step 4: Squeeze the sides in the back of your mouse and pop open the cover. Lift the cover up over the front of your mouse. Don't use too much force - there are some delicate things there.

Step 5: Look at where the exacto knife points. There is a tiny piece of plastic there that rubs the wrong way when you press the mouse down. We're going to cut it off. As far as I could tell, it doesn't serve any functional purpose.

Afterward, hold the cover upside down and make sure it doesn't make any squeaking noises. If all is well, put the mouse back together retracing your steps backward.

The mouse hasn't caused any trouble since, and it's nice not to have it squeak anymore.
