North Mississippi Fish Hatchery Paddlefish Update

Justin Wilkens, North Mississippi Fish Hatchery Manager reports that his paddlefish have reached 11-12 inches in total length, tagged July 14, 2009.

Each fish will be injected with a tiny coded wire tag. These tags are only 0.01 inches thick and 0.04 inches long.

The fish will be released above Columbus Dam in the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to help restore their population.

Tags and tagging equipment will be provided by the Private John Allen National Fish Hatchery in Tupelo.
