The Macbook Air was calling my name. I could hear it loud and clear....until I found a sale on a netbook.
I decided to make an impulse purchase and get an Asus EEE PC. I am not ready to do a full review yet, as I've just gotten the system up and running to my preferences; however I can already see some benefits of having a netbook when you are a mobile worker.
-It's light which is great for traveling out of town, going to meetings, and working at coffee shops. Carrying a 2lb netbook vs. a 7lb laptop really makes a difference especially if you have other accessories, or files to carry as well.
-It's a relatively inexpensive addition to your lineup; especially if you choose a system that has Linux as opposed to Windows.
-It's nice to have a back up computer in case your main one goes on the fritz.
-It's much less expensive than a Macbook Air, and unlike the Air it comes with three USB plugs and an Ethernet plug.
