See if you can spot the differences.

No, there won’t be any cosmetic changes to how you search for stuff through Google. The home page is going to look the same. It takes something like the Motorola Droid to come along for them to alter that.

Anyways, yes indeed, the Google Search function is about to get more accurate after the testing of a project called Caffeine concluded with what appears to be, well, success.

You can head here to see the ‘error’ message that has gone up in Caffeine’s place.

Now, a lot of the differences will appear to be subtle, but a poll taken over at Lifehacker reveals that around 75% of people found that Google Caffeine gave better results than Google Classic. From the pictures they have up, the results seem indistinguishable until you look closer and they become more apparent.

There is no telling when Google is going to fully implement Caffeine on a wide scale but because it did well in testing, sooner rather than later probably is a good guess. Although, because it works in the shadows, you may not even notice that it came out until it’s too late and your searching has improved.

Bummer.
