I never thought this could possibly happen in a million years, but it did. Little did I know that months ago when I purchased a Verizon Blackberry Storm it would be the beginning of the end of my relationship with Verizon. In my opinion, they were the top company for service, call clarity and reception. I pitied my colleagues with AT&T Wireless because they couldn't get service in many courthouses, and their calls seemed to be frequently dropped.

Because of the terrible quality of the Blackberry Storm, and because of Verizon's refusal to acknowledge the issues that were so prevalent in that little over-hyped device, after three replacement Storms I had had enough. They wanted me to pay full price for a replacement phone and were not even kind about telling me so. So off I went to the AT&T store, knowing that I soon would regret my rash move. In a way I saw it like a revenge relationship. Verizon had been so good to me for years, and then suddenly one day I didn't even know who they were anymore. I figured my flight to AT&T would be short lived and that I soon would be begging Verizon to take my money and take me back. More than a month later, I must say that I am very happy with AT&T and very surprised.

I bought an iPhone 3Gs. It goes with me everywhere. It never drops calls. It's batter life is every bit as good as the Storm, although not great.

Here's where it differs from the Storm: It works.

I can get things done on it.

The keyboard took a little getting used to after the Storm, but now I can type much faster because I don't have to physically depress the screen for each letter. I make a lot of typing mistakes, but the iPhone knows what I'm thinking and almost always corrects my appropriately.

The internet connection speed is great, and the best part about surfing the web on the iPhone vs. the Storm is that you can actually surf. The iPhone is very user friendly.

The screen clarity is awesome. The videos play nicely. The video camera is every bit as powerful as the Storm's, and it actually works consistently. It is easy to take and email pictures and videos.

From where I've been to where I am now, I give the iPhone a very enthusiastic endorsement.
