Since posting a review of Amicus Attorney I have had more calls from other lawyers than from any other single article I have ever written.

The questions range from "should I get it," to "did your database crash today too?"

As I always say, I am always happy to talk with out lawyers about practice, practice management and software. As the owner of a small law firm, no single part of my infrastructure is more crucial to my practice than my law office management program.

As I said in the previous article, I own Amicus Attorney for a reason. It works and is easy to use.

However, I want to make a follow-up recommendation to the article. Hire a good consultant. Check with the folks at Gavel and Gown to make sure anybody you consider hiring is trained by them and in good standing.

You should expect to pay anywhere from $100 - $150 per hour for good help. It is worth it. The last thing you need is to try to be the hero of your firm and do it yourself and really screw it up. Trust me, I've been that guy. About 300 times.
