German site iPhone-ticker.de is reporting in with some pictures from ChinaOnTrade.com showing what looks like a new bezel for the rumored third version of the iPhone. From a quick glance, we're looking at the disappearance of the silver bezel and a move to a completely black metal. They've also moved the ear-piece higher, making it seem like it's half-way between the glass screen and the metal bezel. MacRumors.com is reporting that iLounge.com claims it's to make room for an additional sensor or some kind of extra front-facing camera.
Speculation about a front facing camera on the iPhone has been around for a while, and some iPhone patent pictures that have been floating around seem to lend a bit of credence to this. With the PA Semi acquisition that I spoke about earlier, stronger ARM processors could be on the way and that means snazzier iPhones. That idea seems to mesh well with the latest Apple Job listing asking specifically for for ARM coders and another person who can give Apple "cutting edge embedded video processing."
Methinks WWDC will be fun.
And while it's already been reported that Steve Jobs will not be giving the Keynote in June, that doesn't mean we can't expect something wonderful from Apple. Besides, the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Woz knows Jobs is fine -- we can all stop worrying.
