Crappy Gift Guide: Crappy crafts for Christmas
No one likes to take crap from anyone, especially during the holidays but “it” happens. Perhaps we got a little overzealous with a glue gun and glitter or tried to turn trash to treasures. We've all been victims of crappy gifts before but very few have experienced the level of excrement one creative crafter has managed to deliver.
The "Freaky Old Woman's Shop" has out-dooed, er um, out-done herself and anyone else that wants to take her crap. She describes her creations as "immature, gross, obscene, disgusting, funny, and hilarious." Crappy t-shirts are available for those who want to dish their stuff in public and for more personal messages, she has created greeting cards - a kinder alternative to the flaming paper bag on the front porch!

I learned about this Freaky Old Woman (FOW) because of another blog. Craftastrophe (because handmade isn't always pretty) WARNING! This site is addictive! They should be required to have a federal label on their home page! A team of ladies find the best of the worst crafts, add a few of their own comments and allow visitors to add more thoughts. The results are hilarious and have me reading and laughing for hours!
Some of the highlighted creations obviously took a lot of effort but are far from being mainstream. Other items seem to be junk drawer remnants glued together. The Craftastrophe ladies often quote the sellers, followed by their own remarks. One crafter went a bit wild with ruffles and rickrack on a child's outfit and is described as "Dressing your kid like a whacked out Holly Hobbie doll on crack."
There's lots of crap to be had during the holiday season and I suggest you start sniffing around the FOW or Craftastrophe before scouring the sewers!
As FOW says, "Crap sells!"
