While third-party applications have offered ways for people to group Twitter people in lists for others to utilize, now Twitter itself has come up with a list function of its own.
If you have a Twitter account, you can create a list. In fact, the list will have a URL that will include your Twitter username. Lists by default are public although they can be made private. You can create a list from your home page by clicking “New list” and naming your list.
If you go to your Twitter home page you will see the word LISTED next to FOLLOWING and FOLLOWERS. You’ll see the number of lists in which you are included – someone has added you to his/her list. Click on LISTED and you’ll go to a page with tabs “Lists following you” and “Lists you follow.”
I’ve created the Twitter list @ZimblerMiller/us-troops-supporters in connection with my project www.FilmsThatSupportOurTroops.com. I’m hoping to grow the list dramatically over the next few weeks.
