Savannah Outen is a rising star that was discovered on YouTube and is famous for covering songs from different artists. Savannah has teamed up with Jan Marini to spread the word about protecting yourself from the sun, and how skin protecting is especially important for children younger than 10.

How was working with Jan Marini?

It was awesome. She was really sweet and they have such great products. The first time I talked to her on the phone she was just so sweet and she knows just so much about skin and just keeping your skin clean, so yeah it was great talking to her, and I’m so glad to be a part of it.

What message do you want to send to teens and adults about skin care?

Jan told me when I talked to her on the phone that most sun damage occurs before the age of 10, and at least 85% of sun damage happens before the age of 18, which is so crazy. I had no idea that it started occurring that early in someone life. It’s important to wear your sunscreen and your sunglasses because you need to be careful of all the harmful rays.

What is your beauty regimen?

Not only do I try to use the Jan Marini SPF 30 sunscreeen, I wear it even thought it’s not really sunny. Especially when I’m performing, because I’m always outside and I can burn. I use Jan Marini cleanser too.

What is the best beauty advice you’ve been given?

This summer I’ve been given the advice to just go all-natural and to just wear powder and eyeshadow. All natural for the summer.

What is the worst advice you’ve taken?

When I was on dance team, the whole teams skin tone had to match so I packed on this thick foundation, and ended up breaking out my whole skin.

What makes a person beautiful?

Confidence in your own skin.

What are you goals for the future?

I would love to be nominated for Grammy award. I have been watching the Grammy’s since I was little. I would also love to go on my own tour, and get to sing everyday for 3 months.
