You may have seen Chris in the ABC Family hit show "10 Things I Hate About You", but tonight his new movie, My Super Psycho Sweet 16, premieres on MTV. In this interview, Chris talks about his character Brigg, his favorite scene, and who he'd love to work with again!
Can you tell me about your character in My Super Psycho Sweet 16?
Chris: Brigg is the guy that everyone seems to strive to be on the outside; the prototypical "jock", with seemingly genuine confidence. But he isn't a prototype to himself at all. He's going through what every kid in high school goes through. Self discovery.
What drew you to his role?
Chris: He reminded me a lot of me in high school. It gave me the chance to say what I should have said at the time and do what I wanted to do at the time. Instead of what everyone else "expected" me to do. Which is mostly just being a curious teenager.
Do you have anything in common with him?
Chris: We look a lot alike :).
What did you bring to his character?
Chris: Hopefully truth, and genuine honesty. I think that's what every actors goal is.
What was your most favorite and least favorite scene to film?
Chris: My most favorite was probably the final scene; it was really intense. I don't have a least favorite; my mentor and teacher Jon Simmons has taught me from day 1 to treat every scene like it is the most important, and to serve the script as well as your character.
Is there anyone from the movie that you'd love to work with again?
Chris: Had a blast with Julianna Guill. Would love to work with her again. Truly a sweetheart.
What types of movies can we look forward to seeing you in, in the future?
Chris: Hopefully all kinds (chuckle)
