There's a huge market for womens skincare for obvious reasons, women do everything we can to stay looking young and we will try anything and everything to put wrinkles in their place.....AWAY from our faces!!!  So how come men have a whatever attitude about their skincare or perhaps don't even think about it at all?  Do they think that it's not "manly" to incorporate any type of skincare products into their shaving routine?  Could be or maybe they just wouldn't know where to start.

Surprisingly, the beauty industry is seeing an increase in sales among male skincare products.  I wouldn't blame it on the Metrosexuals either, I think some men out there are becoming more in tune with themselves and looking good.  Especially those men getting up there in age and wanting to score a younger chick.

So beyond shaving what can a man do to help maintain great skin?  Shaving alone does do incredible things for the male's skin as it acts as a super exfoliator, pretty much like Retin A does to womens faces.  Not to mention that because men have testosterone it makes their skin thicker naturally and less prone to wrinkles. (figures.......damn men get the goods yet again!)  Men are no strangers to razor rash and bumps on their faces from shaving so it's a good idea to incorporate a toner.  Toners typically will balance out the Ph level of the skin so as to help or eliminate irritation.  Men, like women, can get overwhelmed with products especially too much of them.  Just keep it basic guys, cleanser, toner, moisturizer preferably with a sunscreen in it and your done.

Keep in mind that you can and are able to use the same products as your wife does, but for those of you too "manly" and prefer products that say "men" on them here are some product lines to get you started!

www.zirh.com/products.aspx   Zirh also offers facial scrubs and masks for when you really want to pamper yourself as well as a complete spa kit.  While this line is mid-to high priced, it's still worth it.

www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/men/index.aspx  Kiehls has been around for years and contain natural ingredients and have a relatively decent affordable price point, so it's great for the younger guys out there as well.  Just click on the links to the left that are marked everything men from post shave to pre-shave.  Pre-shave is where you will find the cleansers and scrubs.
